I bought a CAT 232b at an auction and can't figure out how to make the log splitter attachment work without using the thumb wheel on the left joystick. Tried pushing the button and rolling the wheel, but can't get continuous flow. Checked fuses and power, everything seems fine. The splitter works great when I'm inside the cab, but I'd really like to use the lever outside to make it a one-man job. Any ideas on what's wrong?

Hold the roller up/down and press and hold one of the buttons on the left joystick and slowly release the roller. If that doesn't work, you might need a bypass switch as hydraulics won't work unless you are in the cab. You could try putting an 80-pound brick on the seat with the seat bar down and front door closed.
