Hi, anyone experienced this? My CAT 307ssr excavator appears to have a play in the gear mesh when I swing the cab back and forth. It seems like there’s a swing motor or turntable issue. The cab jerks around a bit and stops with clunking noises when changing direction. The problem is even louder now. Any ideas?

I've encountered a similar issue with a different model. It turned out to be wear in the swing bearing. Check the tolerances.

Sounds like you might need to inspect the swing gear and pinion for wear. It’s a common issue with older machines.

I had a similar problem and it ended up being a loose swing motor mount. Tightening it up resolved the issue.

Check the lubrication of the swing drive. If it’s low on grease, it can cause excessive play and noise.
