CAT Excavator Final Drive Motors Broke

Actual Question

Not really, I was on a pretty steep grade walking it uphill.

What model and how many hours on it? I've never heard of them both going at once. Which end was uphill? Sprockets or idlers?

Neither have I heard of that or has the cat man. Its a 1990 E110B, and the sprockets where uphill. I have found some parts to fix it but would really like to know what caused this to happen before I put it back together.

That stinks. At least they wear evenly? That's my guess. Straw that broke the camel's back, type of thing. Like I said, new one on me. Sprockets uphill = Correct way to climb steep hills, in case anyone was wondering.

Its a crazy thing, we started with checking pressure's on everything possible, didn't even think about it being the motors because of the unlikeliness of both of them going at the same time. But when that was all that was left to look at that’s what it was.

How dare kittycat go to work without checking in here first..

TallGrass.. yes thats what Cat means. I am now sure of why though.. I know i prefer backwards so if something happens I can bury the blade in the ground with hopes of stopping the dozer from becoming a runaway in reverse..

Thanks
