I want to have info about the comparison of Datastream 7i vs. the latest version of Maximo. What are distinguishing features? Are there any people suffering from these two systems? What are the basic problems of your Datastream or Maximo? Do you say "it would be better to choose concurrent user type instead of named user? Is there any people that have used both systems and can you say one is better than the other? for what features?
Hello MuratC, it depends on your requirements. I am product independent and the first approach to my customers is to ask them about their requirement. It's very bad, if start comparing features instead of checking how good (or bad) your requirements can be fulfilled by one of the systems from the market. So to answer your questions it will help to have a better idea on your requirements.
What do you want to accomplish? Does workflow matter? Maximo is much better for workflow. If I want things to happen and be routed to people for approvals then Maximo is better. Datastream is better if you are looking for ease of use and actual end-user configuration.
