Any idea on the sale price for an old John Deere 410 backhoe? I read the serial number correctly as 148817T.
I bought it used in 2005 and use it every 6 months, mostly to cut firewood. It's starting to irritate as repairs
are becoming more frequent. I replaced the starter today. Thinking of selling it. What should I ask for it?
Rear main seal leaks, front end loader is slow, and there's wear in the pins and bushings. It leaks hydraulic fluid
and engine oil as expected for a machine of this age. However, it starts easily and the transmission seems okay.

I recently sold a similar model for about $8,000. Given the issues you mentioned, you might want to
list it for around $6,500 and be open to negotiation.

I think $5,000-$6,000 is a fair price considering the leaks and worn parts. It’s good that it starts
easily and the transmission is okay, that’s a plus!

If you’re not in a hurry, list it higher at $7,000. You can always negotiate down. Those machines
still hold value.

Given the frequent repairs and leaks, I’d suggest starting around $5,500. You'll likely attract more
buyers and might end up with a quicker sale.
