What type of hydraulic oil in CAT 262?

Actual Question

I dont think that is a suitable oil for the system due to the hydrostats. Although the price is right it may cause severe wear to the drive pumps. The factory fill is always a good choice but pricey. The recomended substitute for most skids is 10w30 engine oil and alot of people take this route after the warranty is up. Stay away from the cheap hydraulic only oil.

Like frogfarmer mentioned, 10w30 engine oil is a common substitute. I had 15w40 engine oil in my skid steer once and it worked well until the temperature dropped below 20°F. Then it didn't perform as expected.
